Scholar Highlight – Annabelle Perfrement

A massive congratulations to one of our RISE scholars, Annabelle Perfrement, who presented her research at two conferences.

“As part of the RISE program, I had the privilege of working with the Nepean Urology Department (NURG). My project focused on the introduction of the da Vinci robot at Nepean— the first public hospital to implement this technology. Our research aims to evaluate the efficiency of the da Vinci system in a public training hospital by examining key peri-operative outcomes, as well as assessing its impact on patient outcomes.

I recently had the opportunity to present this work in the Hunter Valley at the NSW USANZ Section Meeting. It was a fantastic day connecting with both aspiring and current urologists. I was also invited to present at the Nepean Research Day, where I was honoured to receive the Runner-Up Student Presentation Award.

A huge thank you to RISE for creating this incredible opportunity. I’m excited to see this research continue to grow—and hopefully develop into a published paper!”
